Softball Recap: Brown County Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Washington, Brown County was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds by a score of 10-7. The Eagles have beaten the Thunderbirds the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Thunderbirds has come to flipping the script.

Brown County got a big performance out of Grace Frye, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Woolems, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Brown County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

Brown County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Eastern Greene, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Brown County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 17-8 loss against Mitchell on the 8th. As for Eastern Greene, they have also already played their next contest, a 14-4 win against Shoals on the 9th.
