Softball Recap: Arcadia's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After flying high against Bishop Alemany on Saturday, Arcadia came back down to earth. The Arcadia Apaches took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Downey Vikings on Saturday. The Apaches were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Arcadia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Fox, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Arcadia moved to 6-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Downey, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arcadia will face off against Schurr at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Schurr is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Downey, they will challenge Mayfair at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
