Texas volleyball teams with biggest MaxPreps Computer Rankings jumps

The volleyball season in Texas is in full swing, and 10 of the 1,017 teams in the state jumped 90 spots or more in the latest MaxPreps Texas Volleyball Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.

East Central (San Antonio)
Jumped 177 spots to No. 318. The Hornets (12-11) are coming off a split in two matches, beating Southwest (San Antonio) 3-2 before losing to Clemens (Schertz) 3-0.

Hanna (Brownsville)
Jumped 143 spots to No. 598. The Eagles (5-4) have won three of their last four matches. The team lost to Veterans Memorial (Brownsville) 3-0, but rebounded to defeat Rivera (Brownsville) 3-0.

Pewitt (Omaha)
Jumped 126 spots to No. 472. The Brahmas (15-6) have won four of their last five matches and are 9-1 at home. The team beat Hughes Springs 3-1 and New Boston 2-0, and lost to Mt. Vernon 2-0.



Fort Bend Clements (Sugar Land)
Jumped 115 spots to No. 493. The Rangers (6-16) and lost to Tompkins (Katy) 3-1 before coming back to beat Fort Bend Travis (Richmond) 3-1.

Grace Prep (Arlington)
Jumped 114 spots to No. 166. The Lions (5-3) started the season 4-0, but have cooled off lately, falling to Pantego Christian (Arlington) 3-2.

Methodist Children's Home (Waco)
Jumped 113 spots to No. 773. The Bulldogs (4-3) scored a pair of wins last week, downing North Dallas Adventist Academy 3-2 and Dallas Academy 3-0.

Trimble Tech (Fort Worth)
Jumped 112 spots to No. 543. The Bulldogs (5-6) pulled off a couple big victories by taking care of Everman 3-0 and South Hills (Fort Worth) 3-1.

Mt. Vernon
Jumped 97 spots to No. 365. The Tigers (19-7) have won 10-straight matches and went undefeated in their own tournament last weekend. During its hot streak, Mt. Vernon has dropped just one of its last 26 sets.

St. John XXIII (Katy)
Jumped 91 spots to No. 739. The Lions (3-5) have won their last two matches after starting the season losing five of their first six. The team recently beat Kelly Catholic (Beaumont) 3-1 and Clear Lake Christian School (Houston) 3-0.



Heritage (Frisco)
Jumped 90 spots to No. 322. The Coyotes (4-7) took home two wins last week to move up. The team downed Little Elm 3-0 and Lone Star (Frisco) 3-1.
