The Hebron Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Coppell Cowboys at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
Hebron is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Flower Mound just ended the team's six-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 3-2. While the Hawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Jaguars 25-18 in the first set.
Hebron was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Flower Mound work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 18-25, 26-24, 25-19, 25-27, 19-17.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kamryn Mullican, who hit 60.9% for 14 kills and 18 digs and three aces. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 20 times she's played.
Meanwhile, Coppell made easy work of Marcus on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.
While Coppell won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-20, 26-24.
Coppell's win came from a few key players Hebron will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zoey Ponsen, who had 19 assists and seven digs. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September.
Hebron's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 19-11. As for Coppell, they pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Hebron has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6 aces per game. However, it's not like Coppell struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Hebron beat Coppell 3-1 in their previous matchup back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
