Basketball Recap: Milford Takes a Loss

Milford lost against Polytech back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Milford Buccaneers came up short against the Polytech Panthers, falling 49-29. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Delaware basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Panthers are ranked seventh).

Polytech found their leader in sophomore Saniya Skinner, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 steals. Skinner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sierra Henry, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.

Milford's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Polytech, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Milford has already played their next contest (against First State Military Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Polytech, they have already played their next game, an 83-67 loss against Cape Henlopen on the 19th.
