Softball Recap: Brandywine Comes Up Short

Brandywine was the 10-2 winner over Ursuline Academy when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders on Saturday. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Lilah Goldstein was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Kaelyn O'Connor, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Brandywine's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Ursuline Academy, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-6.

Coming up, Brandywine will venture away from home to take on Red Lion Christian Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Bulldogs are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Ursuline Academy, they will challenge Concord at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.
