Football Recap: Twentynine Palms Has No Trouble Against Desert Mirage

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Twentynine Palms's strategy against Desert Mirage on Friday. The Wildcats blew past the RAMS 38-14. The Wildcats pushed the score to 31-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the RAMS had little chance of recovering from.

Twentynine Palms found their leader in sophomore Josh Reynoso, who threw for 170 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes, and also rushed for 35 yards and one score. A healthy portion of Reynoso's aerial production (86 yards to be exact) went to Aaron Haney, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Twentynine Palms was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 238 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Twentynine Palms now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Desert Mirage, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Twentynine Palms will be playing in front of their home fans against Desert Hot Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Desert Mirage, they will head out on the road to challenge Coachella Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The RAMS are facing the Mighty Arabs at the right time seeing as the Mighty Arabs are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
