Basketball Recap: The Academy of the Holy Cross Comes Up Short

The Academy of the Holy Cross was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 52-35 bruising from the Bishop O'Connell Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tartans of the 55-51 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Bishop O'Connell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mia Morrill, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriana Mayorga, who earned 12 points.

The Academy of the Holy Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Bishop O'Connell, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-9.

The Academy of the Holy Cross and Bishop Ireton will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Bishop O'Connell has already played their next match (against Gainesville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
