Volleyball Recap: Gates County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Gates County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Holmes Aces, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Aces this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 11th.

Gates County was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-22, 25-7.

Harper Evans was a one-woman wrecking crew For Holmes. as she had ten aces and seven digs. Evans has been hot recently, having also posted 21 or more assists the last four times she's played.

Gates County's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Holmes, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-1.

Coming up, Gates County will head out on the road to take on Manteo at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Holmes, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Washington on the 1st.
