Football Recap: Shoshone Takes a Loss

Shoshone lost against Carey back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Indians were dealt a 64-8 loss at the hands of the Panthers. The contest marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

It was another big night for Stockton Sears, who rushed for 169 yards and five touchdowns on only 11 carries for Carey. Sears really tore up the turf during one magnificent 81-yard run. Gabe Saili was in the mix as well, providing Carey with two TDs.

This is the second loss in a row for Shoshone and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Carey, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Shoshone will take on Dietrich at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will be up against the Blue Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.14 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Carey, they will challenge Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 896 yards in their previous games.
