Basketball Recap: Wausa Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Reagan Gillilan and Kenley Anderson

Wausa lost against Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wausa Vikings took a 50-31 bruising from the Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] Bobcats. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wausa's loss came despite strong showings from Kenley Anderson and Reagan Gillilan. Anderson went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points, while Gillilan posted five points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Anderson a new career-high in points.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]'s victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kanyon Allemang, who went 7 for 16 on her way to 18 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Lydia Robertson was another key player, going 7 of 15 en route to 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Wausa's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard], their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11.

Wausa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-37 victory against Creighton on the 3rd. As for Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard], they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-37 loss against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge on the 3rd.
