Recap: Columbia Eagles vs. Cook Hornets
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Columbia Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 23-20. Columbia's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Columbia still got an impressive performance from Jadan Baugh, who rushed for 185 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and also picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Baugh's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.
Cook's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keshun Mckever, who rushed for 145 yards.
Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Cook, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.
Columbia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cook will head out on the road to face off against Rockmart at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rockmart will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
