Volleyball Recap: Marana Victorious + How To Watch

Marana won the last time they faced Tucson High Magnet School and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tigers came out on top against the Badgers by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Marana had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-20.

Sophia Maytorena was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 12 digs and six aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September.

Tucson High Magnet School's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brielle Valencia, who had nine assists and five aces.

Marana's win bumped their record up to 23-10. As for Tucson High Magnet School, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-17.

Coming up, Marana will face off against Ironwood Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tucson High Magnet School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
