Recap: Southwestern Rebels vs. Austin Eagles
The Southwestern Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 56-46 to Austin. Southwestern has not had much luck with Austin recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Several Rebels players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chloey Leach, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Leach's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ashley Fulton, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Southwestern's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Austin, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwestern will take on Switzerland County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Switzerland County is ranked 232nd, while Southwestern is ranked 236th). As for Austin, they will be playing at home against Henryville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
