Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson County Tigers vs. Altha Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Jefferson County Tigers duke it out with the Altha Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Jefferson County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 70 points back in December of 2024, they were much more limited against FAMU DRS on Thursday. They were dealt a 55-28 defeat at the hands of the Baby Rattlers. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Baby Rattlers: they've now lost five in a row.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Keion Enzor, who posted seven points. Xay Footman was another key player, putting up five points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Altha unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 66-50 to Freeport.

Jefferson County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Altha, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Jefferson County might still be hurting after the 68-45 defeat they got from Altha in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Jefferson County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
