Softball Recap: Pecos Takes a Loss

Pecos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Monahans Loboes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Loboes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 back in March.

Carriz Hernandez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

Pecos' record now sits at 9-18. As for Monahans, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Pecos and Monahans will both be playing Fort Stockton the next time they take the field. Monahans will head out to face Fort Stockton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Pecos will host them at 5:00 p.m. on the 8th.
