Preview: Rivercrest Colts vs. Gravette Lions
Rivercrest has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Gravette Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Rivercrest's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last eight matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Rivercrest had no problem doing just that on Friday. They didn't even let Mena onto the board and left with a 36-0 victory. Rivercrest might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven matches by 27 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Koby Turner, who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Turner really tore up the turf during one magnificent 88-yard run. Rivercrest also got help from Buddah Harris who showed off his sure hands for 102 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Gravette can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They claimed a resounding 55-10 victory over Stuttgart at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Gravette.
Gravette's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabriel Holmes, who rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also threw for 140 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. Kyler Austin also helped out as he racked up 112 rushing yards.
Rivercrest has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. As for Gravette, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
