Softball Recap: Keene Drops Season-High Score on Trinity Leadership

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Keene). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Trinity Leadership Tigers an 18-0 shutout on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Angela Masao was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Graciela Fuentes, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Keene was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .652. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Keene is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Trinity Leadership, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Keene does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Trinity Leadership, they will challenge Madison at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.33 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
