Spring Valley waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They greeted the New Year with with a 67-53 win over the Boulder City Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Grizzlies also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2020.

When it comes to explaining why Boulder City lost, don't look at Sean Pendleton. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 14 on his way to 16 points and three steals. Pendleton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Aiden Birch was another key player, putting up ten points.

Spring Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.4 points per game. As for Boulder City, they moved to 8-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Spring Valley and Durango will face off at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
