Softball Recap: Scotia-Glenville Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

After only two runs in their last contest, Scotia-Glenville made sure to put some runs up on the board against Broadalbin-Perth on Monday. The Tartans' pitcher stepped up to hand the Patriots a 12-0 shutout. The Tartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Keeley Kristel was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Emma Klejsmyt and Molly Juedes did most of the damage at the plate: Klejsmyt went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Juedes went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one run. That's the most runs Klejsmyt has posted since back in April. Ella Wicks was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Scotia-Glenville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Broadalbin-Perth only posted an OBP of .167.

Scotia-Glenville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Broadalbin-Perth, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Scotia-Glenville will square off against Schuylerville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Broadalbin-Perth, they will take on Fonda-Fultonville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
