Volleyball Recap: Fort Wayne Northrop Bruins vs. Carroll Chargers
Fort Wayne Northrop entered their matchup against Carroll on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bruins took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Fort Wayne Northrop was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Carroll work for it, especially in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 17-25, 25-14, 26-24.
Zachary Mosher paced Fort Wayne Northrop's offense, picking up six kills. Mosher got some help from LahPwe Htoo and his nine assists. Finally, Htoo was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.
Carroll was led to victory by Dominic Bennett and Isaiah Trulock. Bennett had six digs and two aces, while Trulock had 17 digs. Those 17 digs gave Trulock a new career-high.
Fort Wayne Northrop suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 8-3. As for Carroll, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-4.
