Soccer Recap: Birch Run Comes Up Short

The matchup between Birch Run and Ovid-Elsie on Thursday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Panthers lost 8-0 to the Marauders. While losing is never fun, Birch Run can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 398th, while Ovid-Elsie are ranked 108th).

Birch Run's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5-1. As for Ovid-Elsie, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1.

Looking ahead, Birch Run will head out on the road to face off against Laker on Saturday. As for Ovid-Elsie, they will face off against Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
