Basketball Recap: Blanchester Wildcats vs. Clermont Northeastern Rockets

The Blanchester Wildcats lost to the Clermont Northeastern Rockets back in January, but the Blanchester Wildcats didn't allow the Clermont Northeastern Rockets the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Blanchester skirted past the Rockets 56-53. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Blanchester.

Clermont Northeastern's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Connor Yeager, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds, and Xaden Hunt who scored 21 points along with two steals. Yeager is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Grant Carlier, who scored seven points.

Blanchester's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Clermont Northeastern, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6.

Blanchester will head out on the road to face off against the Astros at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Clinton is on a five-game streak of home losses, the Wildcats a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Clermont Northeastern, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Whiteoak aren't just struggling at home either: they haven't won a game anywhere since January 23rd.
