Basketball Recap: Heritage Leadership Academy Takes a Loss

Heritage Leadership Academy played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 69-49 to the Grovemont Spartans. The Fletchers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Heritage Leadership Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jonathan Adams dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. The game was Adams' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Peterson, who posted ten points and five boards.

Grovemont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from David Lyon, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Lyon has become a key player for Grovemont: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least ten boards, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Paul Seidel, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 16 points.

Heritage Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Grovemont, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
