Baseball Game Preview: Blount Leopards vs. Vigor Wolves

The Blount Leopards will head out on the road to square off against the Vigor Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Blount has five straight wins, Vigor has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Wednesday, it was close, but Blount sidestepped Parker for an 11-10 victory.

The team relied heavily on B Arso, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Blount's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 3-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Mitchell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Arso wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Blount kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Vigor fell victim to St. Paul's Episcopal and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 17-0 to the Saints.

Vigor's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Blount, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Everything went Blount's way against Vigor in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, as Blount made off with a 14-0 win. Will Blount repeat their success, or does Vigor has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
