Soccer Game Preview: Lebanon vs. Cookeville

Lebanon is 1-7-1 against Cookeville since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will host the Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m.

Lebanon is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Smyrna. While losing is never fun, Lebanon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Smyrna are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, Cookeville entered their tilt with DeKalb County on Friday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. Their defense stepped up to hand the Tigers a 1-0 shutout. That's two games straight that Cookeville have won by just one goal.

Cookeville pushed their record up to 12-1-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five contests. As for Lebanon, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
