Softball Recap: Senath-Hornersville Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

Senath-Hornersville hadn't done well against Portageville recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lions walked away with a 5-1 win over the Bulldogs. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 7-6 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Kylie Walker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Lily Chandler was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Mily Reyna was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Senath-Hornersville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Portageville, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-9.
