Lincoln-Way East waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Stagg Chargers. That's more bragging rights for the Griffins, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Lincoln-Way East who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 21-25, 25-21.

Lincoln-Way East's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Stagg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Lincoln-Way East will host Lincoln-Way West at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stagg, they will be taking part in a tournament against Crete-Monee at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
