Recap: Miami East Vikings vs. Versailles Tigers
The Miami East Vikings put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They skirted past Versailles 41-39. Given Miami East's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Versailles is ranked 125th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miami East to victory, but perhaps none more so than Camryn Francis, who scored nine points along with five assists and four blocks. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Maryn Gross, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Miami East pushed their record up to 8-0 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Versailles, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Miami East and Memorial will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Memorial is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. Versailles will be home for the holidays to greet Fort Loramie at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Loramie's defense has only allowed 27 points per game this season, so Versailles' offense will have their work cut out for Versailles.
