Baseball Game Preview: Akins Eagles vs. Austin Maroons

For the second straight game, Akins will face off against Austin. The Eagles will square off against the Maroons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Akins is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Akins managed to slip by Austin the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles came up short against the Maroons on Tuesday, falling 14-5.

Ayden Deleon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Akins saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Celso Becerra, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Aiden Tenberg also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Austin's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-16. As for Akins, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
