Softball Recap: Allen Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Allen waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Rock Hill Blue Hawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-4 back in February.

Morgan Wright made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only three hits, the fewest she's had since back in February. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and three runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ady Fincanon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Ashtyn Kotaska was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Allen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.

Allen's win bumped their record up to 10-12-1. As for Rock Hill, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Allen will face off against rival Plano at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Rock Hill is set to square off against their familiar foe Princeton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
