Deer Park strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Clarkston Bantams. While the Stags didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Deer Park let Lucy Lathrop and Kapri Bailey run wild. Lathrop went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Bailey went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Lathrop has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Reese Culverhouse, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Deer Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Deer Park's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Clarkston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Deer Park beat the Bantams by a score of 13-3 later that day.
