Football Game Preview: Ainsworth Bulldogs vs. North Central Knights

The Ainsworth Bulldogs will challenge the North Central Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ainsworth is looking for their season's first win.

Ainsworth managed to slip by St. Mary's the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs were beaten by the Cardinals 78-35 on Friday. On the bright side, the 35- point performance marked the Bulldogs' highest-scoring game to date.

The losing side was boosted by Chris Fernandez, who rushed for 112 yards and one score on only 15 carries, and also threw for 35 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, North Central played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Neligh-Oakdale, falling 54-28. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost six in a row.

North Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Ainsworth, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-5.

Everything came up roses for Ainsworth against North Central in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 70-30 victory. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
