Robert C. Byrd waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Lewis County Minutemen. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Minutemen, too.
Robert C. Byrd had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-17, 25-0, 25-0.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Robert C. Byrd to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jasmine Hutson, who had three aces, two kills, and 41 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie McGill, who had 16 kills and three blocks.
Robert C. Byrd kept the net locked down and finished the game with 11 blocks. That's the most blocks they've posted since back in September.
Robert C. Byrd's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-16. As for Lewis County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.
Robert C. Byrd wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Bridgeport on the 30th. Lewis County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
