Baseball Recap: Shawnee Wins Going Away Against Cherry Hill East

Shawnee not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 26th (when they won 14-3). Everything went their way against the Cherry Hill East Cougars as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Renegades in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won eight in a row.

Lleyton Coughlin made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Shawnee is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7 otherwise. Coughlin was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Chase Kowal was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Chris Ahrens was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Shawnee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Shawnee's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Cherry Hill East, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9-2.

Shawnee will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
