Basketball Game Preview: Eureka Loggers vs. South Medford Panthers

The Eureka Loggers will take on the South Medford Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

South Medford is hoping to do what Del Norte couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Eureka's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Eureka strolled past Del Norte with points to spare, taking the game 55-36.

Eureka's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elijah Estrada, who posted 17 points. That's the most points Estrada has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Ryder Mitchell, who had 12 points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when South Medford took on Lincoln on Saturday. South Medford had just enough and edged Lincoln out 59-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since January 23rd.

South Medford's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Eureka, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
