Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville will be up against a hot Mayfield team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Panthers blew past Galway 19-10 on Wednesday. Considering the Panthers have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Summer Herting was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of October Herting, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mayfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Cherry Valley-Springfield on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.
The team relied heavily on Taylor Hayes, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Mayfield, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mayfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville struggles in that department as they've averaged .359. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
