Softball Recap: Johnson City's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak at Home

After only two runs in their last contest, Johnson City made sure to put some runs up on the board against Homer on Thursday. The Wildcats blew past the Trojans 12-4. With that win, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Annabel Burke made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Burke was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Gianna Harrington was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Caitlin Moses, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Johnson City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Johnson City's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Homer, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Johnson City will host Vestal at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Homer, they are taking a road trip to take on Jordan-Elbridge at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
