Volleyball Recap: Murray Takes a Loss

Murray suffered their biggest loss since March 13th on Saturday. They came up short against the Syracuse Titans, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost three in a row.

Alex Beckstead paced Murray's offense, picking up 11 kills. Beckstead got some help from Daniel Haskell and his 16 assists. Beckstead was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Murray's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Syracuse, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Murray will venture away from home to face off against Stansbury at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Syracuse, they will take on Weber at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
