After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Berkeley, Cane Bay was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They never let the Stratford Knights get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. For the Cobras, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.
The result came thanks to Isabella Kelly's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Emma Tychek was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Dargan, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Cane Bay's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Stratford, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-7-1.
Looking ahead, Cane Bay will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Goose Creek at 6:00 p.m. As for Stratford, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wando at 7:00 p.m. on the 21st.
