Softball Recap: Flandreau Drops Highest Score of Season Against Baltic

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Flandreau). They were the clear victors by a 28-11 margin over the Baltic Bulldogs on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Fliers, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Nora Hamilton was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with six runs, three stolen bases, and seven RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Sadie Iott was another key player, firing off six runs, three triples, and one stolen base while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances.

Flandreau always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Flandreau is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Baltic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Flandreau does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Baltic, they will venture away from home to face off against Chester on Saturday.
