Basketball Game Preview: Palm Grove Christian Gators vs. Central Baptist Christian Lions

Palm Grove Christian and Central Baptist Christian are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Palm Grove Christian Gators will head out on the road to face off against the Central Baptist Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palm Grove Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season.

Palm Grove Christian will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 23 points on Friday, then bounced right back against West Gate Christian Academy on Monday. Palm Grove Christian claimed a resounding 84-31 victory over West Gate Christian Academy. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 27 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Carter Baker, who posted 25 points. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Carson Miller was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Meanwhile, Central Baptist Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by New Jerusalem Christian Academy 61-23. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-9.

Palm Grove Christian's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5. As for Central Baptist Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Palm Grove Christian came up short against Central Baptist Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2020, falling 80-68. Can Palm Grove Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
