Volleyball Recap: Martin County's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Martin County entered their tilt with Southside on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Seahawks 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Thursday.

Martin County not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Southside between 14 and 16 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-15, 25-16.

Despite the defeat, Southside had strong showings from Emily Mondragon, who had eight digs, and Savannah Cutler, who had nine digs.

Martin County's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Southside, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.

After both having extra time off, Martin County and Pamlico County will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on September 3. As for Southside, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against North Pitt on the 27th.
