Baseball Game Preview: Berean Christian Bulldogs vs. Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack

For the second straight game, Berean Christian will face off against Schoolhouse Prep. The Bulldogs will face off against the Wolfpack at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Berean Christian has given up an average of 10.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Berean Christian heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Monday. They came up short against Schoolhouse Prep, falling 17-1. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Schoolhouse Prep's part, Angel Eysseric looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. That's the most strikeouts Eysseric has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Jose Uzcategui and Francisco Pichardo did most of the damage at the plate: Uzcategui went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Pichardo went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Uzcategui has become a key player for Schoolhouse Prep: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-10 otherwise. Gian Caicedo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Schoolhouse Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berean Christian only posted an OBP of .368.

Schoolhouse Prep's record now sits at 12-10. As for Berean Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Berean Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Schoolhouse Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
