Basketball Recap: Surry County Comes Up Short

Surry County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 52-34 to the Sussex Central Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-45 back in December of 2024.

Surry County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Sussex Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Surry County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Brunswick at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sussex Central, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
