Softball Recap: St. Joseph Central Catholic Triumphs

St. Joseph Central Catholic won the last time they faced Old Fort and things went their way on Thursday too. The Crimson Streaks came out on top against the Stockaders by a score of 6-2.

Stella Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Amaree Haralson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Emma Kelbley, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

St. Joseph Central Catholic's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Old Fort, they dropped their record down to 3-20 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, St. Joseph Central Catholic will challenge Calvert at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Old Fort will be paying especially close attention to the Crimson Streaks' matchup: after the Crimson Streaks face off against the Senecas, they'll take on Old Fort again at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
