Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Lake Arthur

Lake Arthur had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They blew past the Gueydan Bears 16-1. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly 15 runs.

Addison Abshire was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Kendra Simon was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Lake Arthur's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Gueydan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Arthur will host Lafayette Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lafayette Christian Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.88 runs per game on average), something Lake Arthur will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Gueydan, they will be playing at home against Franklin at 5:00 p.m. on April 1.
