Baseball Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

Franklin lost against Oil City back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Knights fell just short of the Oilers by a score of 3-1.

Franklin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Kockler, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Franklin has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Oil City, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-8.

Looking ahead, Franklin will face off against Slippery Rock at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rockets will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Oil City, they will host Grove City at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Oilers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
