Softball Recap: Hackett Catholic Prep's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Hackett Catholic Prep won the last time they faced Martin and things went their way on Saturday too. The Fighting Irish walked away with a 7-4 win over the Clippers.

Ellie Kling made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

In other batting news, Hackett Catholic Prep got a big performance out of Ally Oldman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Oldman a new career-high. Avery Doerr was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Hackett Catholic Prep's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12. As for Martin, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

As of now, neither Hackett Catholic Prep nor the Clippers have any future games scheduled.
