Mullen came tearing into Saturday's match with seven straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Smoky Hill Buffaloes as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-12, 25-14.

Mullen's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Annie Ancheta, who had 21 assists and eight digs. Those 21 assists gave Ancheta a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braylee Shatley, who had nine digs and two aces.

Mullen's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Smoky Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Mullen wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Cherry Creek on the 30th. As for Smoky Hill, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Arapahoe on the 30th.
